Spring Greens at Elk Meadow

Alla prima en plein air painting. I had driven by this spot the previous morning for an appoinment and had noted the morning sun highlighting the rounded rocks of the cliffs on the far side of the meadow. Arriving the next morning in time to be ready for that light, I found a herd of about 20 elk grazing in the meadow.
