Painted in early spring of 2022, the museums and gardens of Old Salem in Winston Salem, NC, are tended to daily. This plot of holdover cabbages and broccoli plants were uprooted the day after I did this painting. Historic buildings and fences line the street, where I painted early in the day before the tourists began to arrive.
