oil on board. As a child my father shared his love for the open road by pointing out man made and natural wonders as we drove south to visit family. I waved to truckers on the straightaway, watched them pass us going downhill and observed my Dad passing them uphill .Currently both as driver and passenger of thousands of miles I transform these feelings into a dance between the specificity of the landscape and the language of paint. Occasionally using my cell phone photos as inspiration as well as my love of nature I put the images together and take them apart working from memory and feelings to convey my experiences. I have gratitude for the men and women truckers who carry the goods across our country.
