Guangzhou City Skyline

Guangzhou City Skyline
Now here's an oil painting to feast your eyes on, a painting of the Guangzhou City skyline, an outstanding city with anything and everything going on in it.

Fun fact: I, the artist of this painting, currently live in this city with my wife and daughter, how is it that I ended up here, in a city of 15+ million people? That's a story for another time. What I can say is that I'm enjoying my time here, it has literally everything one could ever need, you want Latin? It's here! You want Indian? It's here! You want a Texas style steakhouse? It's here! You want a variety of festivals? They're all here! You want different types of Chinese foods from the different parts of China? Yep, you guessed it, they're all here!!

I decided to paint this because I'm enjoying living in this city, it's been a great place for me, it's very easy to get around, and as time progressed, it's become a much MUCH cleaner place. Painting this was a joy but it had its challenges, the biggest of them was that colourful tower on the left, known as Guangzhou Tower (sometimes referred to as Canton Tower), this is a structure that's not only colourful, it's also see through as the outside is a bunch of beams and cross beam supports, and this is what made it difficult to paint. All the other buildings weren't as challenging but they still presented their own challenges, as they had their own colourful displays too (China really likes lighting their cities up).
