This is an oil on linen painting inspired by a photo I took —and sketch I made— of a view of Lake McDonald in Glacier National Park, Montana. I used prussian blue layered over greens and crimson to capture the brilliance of the water. A combination of blended brushwork and sharp edged knife work defines mountain ridges in the background/ horizon and shallow water areas in the mid ground.
