Del Mar

This imagined seascape was inspired by many memories of the coast. Majority of my plein air studies are of compositions like these of dunes or seascapes on my vacations and camping adventures. I enjoy this subject matter because it is something I never get tired of exploring. It is an exciting process to capture the essence of motion and atmosphere, and also finding ways to create dynamic color harmonies and textures that invoke a sense of these experiences. The painting is titled after my wife, María Del Mar.
